First grade celebrated Read Across America a bit late this year (Thanks Nebraska winter!) but definitely in style with our Annual Camp Read-a-Lot!
📚 Our teachers set up tents, prepared campsites, lit campfires, and had ALL kinds of opportunities for us to READ!
📚Some of our favorite activities were listening to camp stories, building compound words, making a camping first aid kit, and lounging around the campfire reading books. To culminate the "best.day.ever" we got to eat s'mores and play a little Camping BINGO! If you see a first grader out and about, ask them for our s'mores recipe! It's a good one!
☀️Sun, warm, snow, repeat… but I spy 4th quarter. Time to lock in and finish strong!
The Wakefield Speech Team attended the Pilgar Cardinal Triangular on Tuesday, March 11. These students participated, and all received awards:

The team will host the Speech Showcase on March 20 at 7 pm. in the High School Band Room
District C1-3 will be on Saturday, March 22, at Schyler High School.
