The eighth grade class attended a Career Day at Northeast Community College on Tuesday, November 16. The day was very educational. Students learned more about the great things Northeast has to offer students as well as how to pay for college. A panel of college students helped answer questions students had about their college experience. Students greatly enjoyed the campus tour and were impressed with its size and modernity. They could picture themselves living in the dorms and eating at the cafeteria every day!!
Following time spent at NECC, students traveled to Heritage Homes in Wayne. Students learned about the many career opportunities found at Heritage, qualities employers look for when hiring, and other interesting facts about the company and careers in general. Expenses incurred during the day were covered by a College Access Grant funded by EducationQuest and applied for by School Counselor, Mrs. Harding. All in all, the day proved to be educational, interesting, and fun!
